Canadian Hard of Hearing Association

One brand, chapters across the country

A national organisation whose public face didn't match what it was. We rebuilt the site as the place the brand is defined, so every chapter has one reference to work from. Six to eight weeks.

Work Website · Accessibility · Brand reference

CHHA is a national organisation with chapters across Canada, and its main website wasn’t doing it justice. The substance was real and the public face wasn’t carrying it.

The problem was not the design

Chapters run their own communications, and nobody at head office tells them what to publish. A national brand only survives that if there is a clear, usable reference for what it looks and sounds like, one that people who were never in the room can follow without asking.

Instead of a brochure, we rebuilt the site as the place the brand is defined: the reference a chapter checks before it produces anything.

Accessibility set the design

For an organisation serving hard-of-hearing Canadians, that meant subtitling, high contrast, and typography chosen for legibility. We started the design from those constraints instead of adding them as compliance items at the end. That produces a different site.

Delivered in six to eight weeks. CHHA kept its existing identity. The job was applying it and building the system around it.
